Senior Olivia Emery has served as a student intern with our Communications Team here at Marietta City School District. During this time she has been a valuable part of our district and has done incredible work. We'd like to thank her for all that she has done over the past several months and hope to work with other bright young Tigers in the future! As one of her final pieces of work, Oliva put together a profile of several of her senior classmates, you can enjoy these senior profiles below!

This senior spotlight features Shakira Bartlett. Shakira teaches students in preschool through third grade at her local church and mentors students in school who are physically and/or mentally disabled. She works at the Boys and Girls Club where she mentors students after school and she also babysits when she is not working. She volunteers through Key Club and also works on the Yearbook Staff at the high school. She often interns with Occupational Therapists who work in the local elementary schools. After high school, Shakira plans on attending Marietta College where she will major in health-related science and graduate with her bachelor’s degree. She then plans on transferring to Muskingum University where she will complete her Master’s degree and become an Occupational Therapist. Shakira’s favorite memories from high school include growing close with friends and also attending school dances.

This senior spotlight features Reagan Estes. Reagan played varsity tennis freshman through junior year, where she was district champion in doubles and qualified for the state competition her junior year which has not been done since 1985. She volunteers through Key Club and helps tutor students as a member in National Honor Society. After graduation, Reagan plans on attending Florida Atlantic University and majoring in oceanic engineering. She has many fond memories throughout her time in high school including all the friendships she has made and she will forever cherish these memories. Another memorable time in high school for Reagan was making the state tournament in tennis with her doubles partner which was held where professional tennis players compete in the Western Southern Open.


This senior spotlight features JT Bellville. JT transferred to Marietta High School this year from Florida, but despite being new, he has become very involved throughout the school. He takes Mrs. Mayer’s EMT class along with the Fire 1 program where he has even aided people in real-life situations. When he is not fighting fires, he works at the local Boys and Girls Club and he also mentors students at the high school who are struggling and need extra help with behavior in class. After graduation, JT plans on continuing his volunteer firefighting career in local areas while also going through training to become a law enforcement officer. His favorite memory from high school includes teaching the younger generations about fire fundamentals and encouraging them to take Mrs. Mayer’s programs which could help save lives.


This senior spotlight features Lilly Westbrock. Lilly played on the soccer team all four years in high school and also played tennis for three years. While on the soccer team, Lilly and the other varsity girls made the state championship last year and were district champions this year. Lilly organizes volunteer services and fundraisers as the Key Club president while also participating in Interact Club at the high school and Phi Theta Kappa at Washington State. She also leads the student section during sports games and plans events for seniors as senior class president. After graduation, Lilly plans on attending West Virginia University and majoring in health and well-being on the pre-med track. Her favorite memory from high school includes attending the Warren game when the Marietta boys' basketball team beat Warren during an away match.



This senior spotlight features Tate Ayers. Tate has been involved in several clubs and activities throughout high school and has well-rounded interests. Tate has been on student council all four years in high school where he has coordinated events for the student body and he also has been a member in National Honor Society since junior year. He was in Science Olympiad in his sophomore and senior years and has been a member in the table tennis club for the last two years. Tate was also the senior captain and four-year varsity letter winner for the Marietta High School swim team. After high school, Tate plans on attending a four-year college to study physics and mathematics then further his education where he will get his Master’s, and later, his Doctorate in quantum engineering. His favorite high school memory includes dressing up for 70s Day during the school spirit week and wearing goldfish platform shoes.



This senior spotlight features Aysia Burke. Aysia has had a great high school experience with playing sports and being involved with several clubs. She has played many varsity sports throughout high school including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track. During her senior year, she became a member in Interact Club, Key Club, and Student’s Solving Problems, and was inducted into the National Honor Society. In these clubs, she often participates in fundraising for groups in need, community service projects, and student-organized school events. Aysia also works on putting together pages for the school yearbook as a member in the Marietta High School Yearbook Staff. After high school, Aysia plans on attending either Muskingum University, Ohio University, or Washington State to further her education. She wants to pursue a career in radiology or nursing after college. Her favorite memories from high school include all the school dances that she attended with friends and fellow students.

This senior spotlight features Andi Lucas. Andi has been involved in the school’s music programs since freshman year including the marching band, the advanced symphonic band, the handbells choir, and the all-female ensemble called Treble Chorus. Andi also keeps the financial report for the Tri-M Music Honor Society as the treasurer. After graduation, she plans on attending Ohio Northern University where she will study Environmental and Field Biology and join the “Star of the Northwest Ohio” marching band. Her favorite memories from high school include band camp, band competitions, and football games while being a member in the marching band. Andi had a great time with everyone involved in these events and loved every aspect about participating in the marching band and the music programs at Marietta High School.
