Phillips families,
We are excited to see all of our wonderful students return from Spring Break on Monday, April 8.
In regards to the historic solar eclipse that will be happening, we know that some of you will likely want to view this as a family. Any student who misses school for that reason will be considered an excused absence as long as you call in to the school to report it like you typically would.
As far as our day goes we will have a normal morning of instruction, lunch and recess. Our afternoon recess will be canceled for the day. It will be teacher choice on if students are taken outside to view the eclipse during the school day. Some students may remain inside to view the NASA livestream of the eclipse or learn about this event in another fashion that their teacher deems appropriate.
For dismissal all of our students will have their glasses in hand, but will not be viewing the eclipse at this time. Once parents come to pick up their children, if they so choose they can take the time to view the eclipse with their children by using the glasses they have been provided. Children riding busses will put their glasses on once they are seated on the bus.
If you have any questions regarding this please direct your questions to our building administration, not your student’s teachers.
Thank you,
Scott Kratche, Principal
